European polymer grade propylene prices rose this week to close Friday at Eur1,127.50-1,132.50/mt FD NWE. With cracker rates pegged in the range of 80-82%, there was a shortness in propylene availability, sources said. “I am convinced it is really tight. A lot of people are approaching us [for product],” one source said, pegging PGP prices at MCP flat. Sources maintained the tightness in product was due to supply issues, rather than a dramatic change in demand.
