Asian polyethylene terephthalate was assessed flat week on week at $1,280/mt FOB Northeast Asia Wednesday as the firm sentiment of the previous week stalled due to a downturn in feedstock purified terephthalic acid. The CFR China PTA price fell $5/mt week on week to be assessed at $880/mt Wednesday. Further upstream, the Asian paraxylene market fell a sharp $35.50/mt week on week to be assessed at $1,168.50/mt. But the Asian PET market managed to remain steady as co-feedstock monoethylene glycol was seen to have hit bottom.
