US spot PX prices followed Asian PX prices lower this week, sources said, as the assessment declined $25/mt week over week to $1,205/mt Friday. US PX spot prices tend to follow price movement in Asia since the US is a net exporter to Asia, a region that is typically short product, sources said, adding that Asian demand has been weak. In Asia, spot PX sank $35.50/mt this week, assessed Friday at $1,246.50/ mt FOB Korea and $1,270.50/mt CFR Taiwan/China amid aggressive selling in downstream markets, sources said.
