Asian ethylene spot prices were assessed unchanged on a day-on-day basis, but recorded week-on-week gains of $22/ mt on a CFR Northeast Asia basis to $1,482/mt, up $10/ mt to $1,410/mt FOB Korea and up $10/mt to $1,400/ mt CFR Southeast Asia. On Friday, bid-offer indications remained unchanged from the previous day at $1,480- 1,500/mt CFR NEA. No trades were reported. Prices retained strength relative to derivative products like polyethylene and monoethylene glycol which sustained sizeable declines through the week.
