Asian general purpose polystyrene prices were still in a downtrend this week, slipping $20/mt week on week to $1,750/mt CFR China and down $5/mt to $1,770/mt CFR Southeast Asia, amid weak buying interest and lower styrene monomer prices. No actual deals were reported this week but a source with a producer said buyers could likely bid at $1,750/mt CFR China. Also, a trader based in Hong Kong said $1,750/mt CFR China would be a reasonable level at which he could resell into the Hong Kong market.
