US spot ethylene declined 2.25 cents/lb week on week, assessed Friday at 54.25-54.75 cents/lb FOB USG, as two large Texas-based producers were heard resuming operations. ExxonMobil at Beaumont and DuPont at Orange were both heard starting up operations after completing multi-month turnarounds, sources said. LyondellBasell in La Porte was heard delaying startup until the last week of June, sources added. Company officials did not immediately return messages seeking comment.
