US low-density polyethylene market players were awaiting official data on domestic demand and producer inventories, with growing expectations that pricing for both contracts and export material could move lower by month’s end. Contracts had not been settled by time of publication — and likely will not be until the very end of the month — but there was talk settlements could range from flat to down 2 cents/lb ($44/mt), with a potential decrease seeming to gather steam, sources. March contracts were assessed at 92-93 cents/lb ($2,028-2,050/mt) for delivered railcars, unchanged since producers were able to implement a 4 cents/lb increase in February.
