US polyethylene terephthalate contracts remained unsettled for June as the market was still awaiting settlement of the upstream paraxylene contract to finalize feedstock pricing for the month. Domestic contracts were last assessed by Platts for May at $1,780-$1,802/ mt. Producers are attempting to implement a 2 cents/lb ($44/mt) increase, with market sources saying that solid demand and rising feedstock prices were both factors that could help US producers implement the increase.
