Prices for paraxylene in Northwest Europe plunged $25/mt day on day, to an assessment of $1,140/mt FOB ARA Friday, the lowest level since June 2012. From a week ago, the assessment was down $50/mt. Sentiment in the European market continued to weaken on widespread uncertainty over global price movements and as Asian prices continued to tumble and European demand was lacking.
