Asian styrene monomer prices rose this week on the back of short-covering activity in China, with FOB Korea prices up $14.50/mt week on week to $1,590.50/mt Friday and CFR China prices were up $9.50/mt to $1,611.50/mt over the same period. From Thursday, FOB Korea inched up 50 cents/mt, while CFR China weakened by $4/mt. In Friday’s market, prompt domestic prices rose Yuan 75/mt to around Yuan 11,250-11,300/mt, roughly equal to $1,540/mt on an import parity basis.
