Houston — US refiner and petrochemical producer Flint Hills Resources suffered a production outage at its Port Arthur, Texas, light olefins unit early Wednesday morning, market sources familiar with operations said. A company source could not confirm the outage, the reason behind the outage or its duration, and a Flint Hills spokeswoman did not immediately return a call seeking comment. Flint Hills produces about 630,000 mt/year of ethylene and 320,000 mt/year of chemical-grade propylene at the Port Arthur site.
