China’s Xianglu ramps up 1.65 mil mt/year PTA plant after restart

Singapore — China’s Xianglu Petrochemical is ramping up its 1.65 million mt/year purified terephthalic acid plant at Xiamen, Fujian province, after restarting it June 11, a market source said Wednesday. The plant was shut May 17 for a turnaround and was scheduled to restart mid-June. Market sources said PTA producers have been increasing run rates in response to rising PTA prices.
