US TDP, MSTDP, HDA margins strong amid higher spot benzene price

Houston — Using toluene as a feedstock to produce benzene in the US has been attractive because of attractive hydrodealkylation, toluene disproportionation and Mobil selective disproportionation margins, sources said Wednesday. These margins have been strong amid a wide price spread between spot toluene and benzene prices. US HDA margins were last estimated Tuesday at $158.16/mt, TDP margins were estimated at $280.97/mt and MSTDP margins were estimated at $132.98/mt.
