Selling pressure in the Asian purified terephthalic acid market continued this week, with the CFR China PTA price falling $25/mt week on week to be assessed at $1,125/mt. PTA market sentiment in Asia remained bearish throughout the week, hit by rapidly-falling paraxylene feedstock prices. The CFR Taiwan/China PX marker fell $58/mt week on week to be assessed at $1,553/mt. Serious price negotiations were limited in the Asian PTA market this week, especially late week, as most market participants were attending a polyester conference over Wednesday-Friday.
