Asian polypropylene prices fell $10/mt from February 19 on poor buying sentiment, with the PP raffia/injection CFR Far East Asia markers both assessed at $1,470/mt Wednesday. A trader with a Southeast Asian firm said many producers were taking cues from the recent uptrend in crude oil prices and withholding offers. “With the weak China market and the rise in price for crude oil lately, producers are unsure how prices will change and will enter the market once they feel the time is right,” the same trader said. Discussions for March cargoes were heard around $1,470/mt CFR Far East Asia.
