Braskem, Genomatica ink JV deal to develop bio-butadiene technologies

London - Brazil's Braskem and Genomatica have agreed to form a joint venture to develop bio-based butadiene production technologies from renewable feedstocks, Genomatica said in a statement Wednesday. Under the terms of the JV agreement, Braskem will fund the development work, research and development, construction and operation of the pilot butadiene using the bio process. The Brazilian polymer producer will receive some exclusive license rights to use the resulting process technology in the Americas, the statement said.
