US spot refinery-grade propylene dropped 2.75-cents since last Friday, assessed Thursday at 56-56.50 cents/lb delivered, as demand for RGP continued to be reported as muted and polymer-grade propylene prices continued to slide. “Summer is coming, Higher RGP production is generally expected in the warm months as refineries run at high conversion rates for more gasoline - consequently there is more RGP,” one market source said. In RGP spot markets, activity was limited as a significant number of market participants were at the American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers’ annual meeting.
