Spot increases across key regions this week could signal to Latin American market participants that prices had likely bottomed out after at least two months of continued weakness. That said, August contracts in these same regions could still sport significant decreases, as these caught up with spot levels. Much of the Latin American region tracks international markers for pricing purposes. Asia led the rebound in spot pricing on the back of emerging demand in China combined with cuts in production. Week on week, the FOB Korea benchmark for the synthetic rubber feedstock rose $85/mt to $900/mt, while its CFR China counterpart rose $65/mt to $920/mt.
