US monoethylene glycol prices were assessed Friday at 47.00-48.00 cents/lb FOB USG ($1,058-$1,080/mt), down 1 cent week on week, as market sentiment remained weak, but not at a level where sellers would drop prices to the point where exports to China were possible. “We have not seen AFG barges soften to that point,” a US trader source said, adding “The market is not very strong, but not crashing.” Asian MEG prices rose 9/mt week on week, assessed Friday at $1,069/mt CFR China and $1,074/mt CFR Southeast Asia.
