Asian low density polyethylene prices surged this week as buyers snapped up any available material as supply remained tight. LDPE was assessed up $40/mt week on week at $1,540/ mt CFR Far East Asia and $1,540/mt CFR Southeast Asia. A Middle Eastern producer who offered at $1,535/mt CFR China with 90 days letter of credit mid-last week revised his offer to $1,555/mt L/C 90 days this week. A small amount of material was heard traded at this level.
