Polypropylene assessments for the Peruvian import market dropped for the fourth week in a row, pressured by lowerpriced offers from Asia, sources said this week. Assessments for homopolymer-grade material fell $20/mt to $1,585-$1,595/mt CFR Peru. Offers were heard in a wide range of $1,600-$1,700/ mt CFR basis. A 300-mt Saudi Arabia-origin offer was heard as low at $1,600/mt CFR Peru for early May delivery, and some trading sources indicated South Korea-origin offers into the region as low as $1,580/mt CFR basis, although not specifically to Peru, where the lowest offer heard was $1,595/mt CFR basis.
