Taiwan’s Formosa Plastics, Asia’s largest polyvinyl chloride producer, on Tuesday lowered its offers for Novemberloading cargoes by $40/mt from October, a market source said. It was offering November-loading PVC at $1,020/ mt on a CFR China and CFR Southeast Asia basis, down $40/mt from October, and at $1,050/mt on a CFR India basis, also down $40/mt from October. In line with lower Formosa prices, the CFR China PVC marker fell $15/mt week on week to be assessed at $995/mt Wednesday. Market sources said rising feedstock ethylene prices had put high costs pressure on PVC suppliers.
