US monoethylene glycol market players were awaiting word on April contract price announcements, with expectations that prices could fall 4-5 cents/lb for benchmark contracts, according to sources. A move in that range would fall in line with the MEGlobal Asia contract price nomination of $1,210/mt CFR, a $100/mt decrease from March. A market source said US producers may be waiting until the last possible moment to reveal April pricing, especially if the prices are moving down as expected, to try and prevent a slowdown in orders from buyers who want to wait for cheaper MEG. Multiple sources said US demand remains low, mirroring markets in Asia and Europe.
