EDC: Asian ethylene dichloride prices were unchanged week on week at $335/mt CFR Far East Asia and $345/ mt CFR Southeast Asia Thursday, with buyers and sellers not active. Notional bids were at $300-320/mt CFR Far East Asia, while notional offers were at mid-$300s/mt CFR China. End-users said they had enough inventory and were not keen to purchase unless prices were attractive, while sellers said they were unable to lower offers further due to high ethylene costs from prior purchases and negative margins for caustic soda. Upstream, ethylene prices was assessed at $1,230/mt CFR Northeast Asia Thursday, down $15/mt week on week.
