US monoethylene glycol spot prices continued to be talked around 47 cents/lb this week, with market players saying barge prices were expected to firm. Spot prices were assessed Friday at 46.50-47.50 cents/lb FOB USG ($1,003-$1,025/mt), flat week on week, with no confirmed deals heard Friday. Sources notionally talked barge prices at 47 cents/lb FOB USG, while another source said prices were just below that level, but heading higher. “USGC price for barges looks headed to 47 [cents/lb] but this week it’s not quite there,” a trader source said.
