Asian ethylene prices were stable this week in thin holiday trade, with the CFR Northeast Asia marker flat both from Thursday and week on week to be assessed at $1,360/ mt Friday. The CFR Southeast Asia marker rose $20/mt both from Thursday and week on week to $1,460/mt Friday. Major market participants in China were away for holidays Tuesday to Friday. There were no bids or offers heard in the market Monday. Sellers preferred to negotiate on a floating basis amid market uncertainty. Participants expect supply tightness to ease slightly in November as several plants return from maintenance this month.
