US monoethylene glycol contract prices are expected to remain flat in June, according to industry sources. MEGlobal set its June North American benchmark price for MEG at 63 cents/lb, a rollover from May, a company source said Friday. MEG demand has been slower than expected to start PET bottling season, but has shown signs this week that it is improving, a source said. With feedstock ethylene prices back under 60 cents/lb FD USG, “this gives some support to holding MEG at near the same levels,” a trader source said.
