The US acrylonitrile export assessment rose $20/mt week on week, assessed on either side of $1,850/mt FOB USG Tuesday on tighter supply and as two March deals were heard done. One deal was heard at $1,885/mt FOB USG for unknown volumes, while a second deal was done last week at $1,850/ mt FOB USG for 3,000 mt. Sources talked the market around the $1,850/mt FOB USG level, with participants mixed on the direction of the market. A source with a producer said $1,850/mt FOB USG could be the low for a few weeks, while other sources said the market could fall lower due to an expected drop in propylene contract prices.
