Mexico’s largest buyer of propylene, Indelpro, was unfazed by the recent supply constraints stemming from production issues on the domestic front, company sources said this week on the sidelines of the Plastimagen 2013 conference in Mexico City. Indelpro, which produces roughly 550,000 mt/year of polypropylene -- or about half of the country’s total estimated demand -- buys propylene from state-owned Pemex Petroquimica but also imports to meet feedstock demand. “We are always importing, so this is nothing new for us,” one of the sources said.
