Asian butadiene prices rose this week amid tight availability of October and November cargoes. Late last week, Thailand’s Bangkok Synthetics sold an H2 October cargo of 1,500 mt in the low $1,500s/mt to a South Korean trader. Market participants said the cargo is expected to be shipped to Northeast Asia. Late Friday, news emerged that a Japanese trader sold a late-October parcel for $1,600/mt CFR China. Spot market activity was thin during the week due to Chinese holidays from Tuesday to Friday.
