Asian low density polyethylene prices fall across the board this week amid thin trading activity in a bearish market. LDPE was assessed at $1,409/mt CFR Far East Asia Wednesday, down $1/mt week on week and at $1,450/mt CFR Southeast Asia, down $20/mt over the same period. A Middle East producer offered April arrival cargoes at $1,420/ mt CFR China Tuesday, with a letter of credit of 90 days. There was less Iranian material being offered in the spot market this week compared with a week ago, stabilizing prices in China. The inventory of polymers including polyethylene, polypropylene, PVC and polystyrene at local producers in China was heard at around 780,000 mt this week, down 20,000 mt from last week.
