The European butadiene market rose $45/mt this week on the back of firmer Asian prices. The Asian market rose $55/ mt to close at $910/mt CFR China this week, prompting a rise in butadiene FOB Rotterdam and FD Northwest Europe prices. Butadiene prices were also boosted by reduced butadiene extraction rates in China, sources said. “An adjustment is normal. When they are not selling it, they have to stop production,” an industry source said.
