Some producers were heard to be moving back from initial offers this week and coming closer to the roughly Eur25/ mt pass-through of the ethylene cost for March. As market watchers indicated in the first week of the month, demand levels were not strong enough to support calls for margin gain, according to sources. One producer said opening offers of between Eur40-50/mt had registered for just a few days before they had been forced to come to Eur25/ mt. The supplier added they had now settled the majority of contracts at this level, as well as isolated cases at plus Eur30/mt and Eur35/mt FD.
