European polyethylene terephthalate continued plunging this week as import prices were the main driver of the decline. Lower demand and expected feedstock decreases also contributed to price declines. Spot prices were assessed a further Eur35/mt down on the week at Eur1,185-1,190/ mt FD NWE Wednesday. However, prices were heard as low as Eur1,170/mt for prompt delivery, declining into the low Eur1,100s/mt for delivery further down the line. Relatively cheap import offers continued to exert pressure on European producers, according to sources.
