The US acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene assessment rose 1 cent on the week to 128 cents/lb delivered railcar Wednesday as demand continued to be heard steady in the market. Price increases of 4-6 cents were implemented March 1 by three producers, sources said, with a producer source adding that the increases were sticking. Prices were talked in the high 120s cents/lb delivered railcar this week, but sources did not see prices above 130 cents/lb delivered railcar as of yet. With feedstocks styrene and ACN prices falling, sources said that prices could rollover or drop in April and during the second quarter. “There will be some pushback from end-users for lower prices,” the source said.
