There was little activity reported in the US low density polyethylene spot and export market, with sources talking of minimal demand because of high prices and fewer offers as supply continued to be heard snug. LDPE spot prices were assessed at $1,521/mt, flat week on week, but at a level sources said was too high to compete in the export market. “It is very difficult to sell,” said a trader source who moves product to Latin America, adding “it’s a market with no buyers.” Another trader source added that he had not heard any new offers from producers this week.
