European spot prices for polyethylene terephthalate were assessed stable week on week Wednesday, at Eur1,310-1,315/ mt FD NWE and GBP1,145-1,150/mt FD UK, as producers fought to increase margins and demand was heard stronger, although a bearish tone persisted on weaker feedstocks. Prices for freely negotiated contracts were assessed Eur5/ mt lower in NWE at Eur1,315-1,320/mt and stable in the UK at GBP1,135-1,140/mt. Prices for recycled PET were higher on the week as demand for flake increased and recyclers aimed to push through higher feedstock prices.
