Market expectations for the March contract settlement centered around a decrease of 5-10 cents/lb ($110-$220/mt) given spot monomer behavior of late and weak demand that back-to-back months of hikes brought to the market, sources said this week. Last week, spot polymer-grade propylene for February delivery was heard trading as much as 15-cent/lb below contract levels (79 cents/lb), which helped feed talk of a potentially significant decrease in PP. Spot PGP bid/offer ranges have since rebounded, heard at 68-73 cents/lb MtB pipe by close of assessment Wednesday. Some market sources expect March contract settlements to give back the 6 cents/ lb they rose in February.
