Polystyrene supply in the US remained tight this week as two facilities have been restarted in the last couple weeks following unplanned outages. Styrolution restarted its 360 million lbs/year Indian Orchard, Massachusetts, polystyrene facility over the weekend after an unplanned outage at the facility September 20, company spokesman Jeremy Whittaker said. Americas Styrenics restarted its 330 million lbs/year Torrance, California, polystyrene at the end of September after the plant went down September 15, sources said. Producer confirmation on the restart was unavailable.
