Asian acrylonitrile prices dived this week to below breakeven levels as Chinese traders cashed out cargoes amid tightening storage tank availability. The CFR Far East Asia marker was assessed Tuesday at $1,810/mt, while the CFR Southeast Asia and CFR South Asia markers were both assessed at $1,820/mt, all down $90/mt week on week. Domestic trades in China were at Yuan 12,600-12,800/mt Tuesday, or $1,668-1,694/mt on an import parity basis, down Yuan 700-900/mt from a week earlier. It was the second week in a row in which China domestic trades fell by Yuan 700-900/mt. Sources said China domestic prices tumbled as tank space was tight and Chinese traders were trying to cash out cargoes.
