European styrene prices were assessed at $1,775.50/mt on Friday, down $1.50/mt on the day and down of $8/mt on the week. Spot prices Friday were generally stable with the first half August market pegged between $1,760-1,800/mt FOB ARA. The second half August market was lower between $1,730-1,780/mt while September loading barges were at $1,730-1,750/mt. After the assessment window closed, a 1kt parcel for September loading was reported done at $1.730/ mt, Styron said.
