US August benzene CP settles 10 cents higher at $4.17/gal: sources

Houston — The August US benzene contract price settled 10 cents/gallon ($29.90/mt) higher at $4.17/ gal ($1,246.83/mt), industry sources said Wednesday. This contract price settlement was in line with market expectations of a contract settlement between $4.15- 4.20/gal, sources said. The benzene CP settled at $4.07/ gal in July, which marked a 35-cent decline. That was the largest drop in a settlement since September 2012, when the CP settled 40 cents/gal lower.
