The low density polyethylene market was heard quiet as sources awaited final word on February contracts, and waited on new March export offer prices from US producers. There was a strong sentiment among buyers that February contracts would settle flat, even as most producers continued to tell customers that they were still planning to raise prices 4 cents/lb for the month. "They have not come off of the plus-4 yet, but I feel that they will tomorrow," a US distributor source said. That belief was shared by many sources who pointed to a pair of producers - Formosa Plastics and Nova Chemicals - already having announced that they would push their increase to March, and talk throughout the industry that some customers were working out similar deals with other producers.
