Asian paraxylene prices were assessed at $1,674.50/mt FOB Korea and $1,699.50/mt CFR Taiwan/China Friday, flat from Thursday, as strong bids emerged for H2 March arrival cargoes for short covering. From a week earlier, the price fell $24.50/mt. Bearish sentiment continued in the Asian PX market Friday morning, but the downside was supported by active short covering for the H2 March laycan. For H2 March, a bid was heard at $1,688/mt CFR Taiwan/Ningbo/Dalian, while sellers were reluctant to reduce their offers below $1,700/mt CFR, expecting a rebound in the Asian PX market next week.
