GPPS: Asian general purpose polystyrene was assessed down $5/mt week on week to $1,815/mt CFR China and down $15/mt to $1,870/mt CFR Southeast Asia Wednesday amid lower feedstock prices and reduced offers. Feedstock styrene monomer was down $7.50/mt week on week at $1,644/mt CFR China, despite rebounding $11/mt day on day. Taiwan’s Chi Mei lowered its GPPS list price $30/ mt from the previous week to $1,840/mt CFR China, the same price offered by a producer in Hong Kong. A Taiwanese producer said producers were likely to accept deals at $1,800-1,810/mt given the current spread to SM.
