US spot ethylene was up 1 cent week on week, to be assessed Friday at 58.75-59.25 cents/lb FD USG, after three major producers suffered outages on the Texas Gulf Coast. Unrelated power outage were reported on Saturday by Flint Hills Resources at its Port Arthur plant, and at Chevron Phillips Chemical’s Sweeny Complex located in Old Ocean, which led to shutting down CP Chem’s ethylene units No. 22, No.24 and No. 33 for an undisclosed period of time, according to company filings with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
