Price movements in Asian ethylene markers diverged this week as cargoes continued to move from Northeast to Southeast Asia despite the price gap between them narrowing. The CFR Northeast Asia marker rose $20/mt from last Friday to be assessed at $1,285/ mt Thursday, while the CFR Southeast Asia marker fell $15/mt over the same period to $1,360/mt. On a day-on-day basis, the CFR Northeast Asia marker was flat, while the CFR Southeast Asia marker fell $20/mt. Platts’ weekly assessment is being published Thursday this week due to a public holiday Friday in Singapore.
