Low density polyethylene saw gains across all regions this week amid bargain hunting. LDPE was assessed at $1,301/mt CFR Far East Asia and $1,305/mt CFR Southeast Asia, up $16/mt and $20/mt week on week, respectively. While demand was still soft overall, buyers stepped back into the market as sellers appeared to be rapidly increasing offers. In China, Sinopec increased ex-works prices Yuan 100/mt week on week Wednesday to Yuan 10,900/mt. Sources said demand for LDPE was higher as it was $29/mt cheaper than LLDPE on Wednesday.
