The Asian bottle-grade polyethylene terephthalte market sank $30/mt week on week to be assessed at $1,460/mt FOB Northeast Asia and $1,450/mt FOB Southeast Asia Wednesday, the lowest level since November 28 last year. PET producers continued reducing their offers this week in a bid to cut high inventory levels. On an FOB Korea basis, offers were heard at $1,470-1,480/mt, down from $1,500/ mt last week. Offers on an FOB China basis were lower than on an FOB Korea basis. PET plant runs in South Korea were also seen to be coming down.
