US producers who rolled over high density polyethylene high-molecular weight film contract prices in March were heard pushing for a 4 cents/lb increase in March. Producers were able to raise HDPE blowmolding and injection grade prices, and sources said those contracts should remain at current levels, at least until April. US domestic HDPE contracts were assessed at 72-73 cents/lb delivered railcar for HDPE blowmolding and 72-73 cents/lb for HDPE injection, both rising 4 cents/lb in February. HDPE film contracts were assessed at 71-72 cents/lb delivered railcar after rolling over in February, but sources said producers are trying to get the 4 cents/lb increase in March. A buyer source said it was too early in the month to tell if they would be successful.
